Retro Style Engagement photo shoot

Chris & Kim

We are sending off summer with mixed feelings. It was by far the busiest summer of our lives and we can’t wait to get some time off next month. We have been so swamped with so many beautiful weddings that we had no time to update this blog to keep you up to date. Well, those of you who follow us on Facebook and Instagram should know what’s up.

We are wrapping up 2013 season with a bang! First of all new website: more informative and user friendly. We loved our old home but we though it was way to simple for the studio of our size and gave our potential clients a wrong impression. So here we are on purpletree.ca vol.2.. There are still a few things that require some tune-ups but we hope you like it.

We had a few talented photographers who helped us over the last few months and we are looking forward to have them on the team in 2014. We’ll make sure to introduce them to you and there is no doubt you’ll love them as much as we do. Stay tuned.

2013 has been fun, full of truly inspiring moments. We’ve shot wedding at beautiful farms in London, picturesque wineries of Niagara-On-The-Lake, three different spots on Toronto Islands, villages of Mexico and we obviously have lots of amazing photos to share with you. But let’s start our catching up with a vintage engagement shoot we did earlier this year with Chris and Kim.

We love shooting e-sessions as this is our chance to get to know our clients and make them feel that they are in good hands so there is absolutely no stress on the big day. This is also an opportunity for both to be creative. We might have our own visions and styles but when it comes to engagement photography it’s all about Team Work. We discuss the theme of our shoot, color tones, props and locations with our clients. It’s our goal to make sure that everything is flawless and not just beautiful at the end but also lots of fun in the process.

For this session, Kim and Chris decided to go for a vintage look. One of their friends let them borrow his gorgeous 1958 Chevrolet Impala who was as much of a star in that shoot as Kim and Chris themselves.

We loved the idea so much that we decided to shoot a short video. And we sure glad we did. It shows exactly what our engagement shoots are all about and how much fun two of you can really have doing this. We hope you enjoy it too and we can’t wait to hear what ideas you have for your love story. Let’s rock it together! And for now, enjoy the story of Kim and Chris.
