Ideas for Toronto Island Engagement Photo Shoot

The adorable engagement photo shoot of Julie and Paul was simple yet full of love and sincerity. This only proves that you do not need a lot of props and decorations to beautify a pre-nuptial shoot. The presence of the two lovebirds and the way they looked into each other’s eyes are enough to make the event a magical and an absolutely memorable one.

The soon-to-be husband and wife chose an impeccable venue that would perfectly complement their affection for each other. The engagement shoot was done at the spectacular Toronto Islands where you would feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of the metro, but in reality, you are actually just downtown. It was very easy for us as we set up our equipment because it was breezy and laidback and the overall atmosphere of the location was homey and relaxing. We are quite sure that Julie and Paul also felt the same way because the moment we snapped photos of them, they were already at it, as if not needing directions at all.

There are a lot of attractive and striking venues in the Toronto Islands. You don’t have to have a professional eye just to see the beauty that the Islands can offer. Just one look and you will immediately fall in love with the clear blue waters of the Ontario Lake and the remarkable views of the city’s skyline. We made sure that Julie and Paul would have the best photo shoot of their lives so we took the time to capture their romance in every place possible.

It was a fun-filled day for all of us especially when we saw the charming couple looking like they were having the time of their lives. For the first set of the shoot, Julie wore a simple, colorful maxi dress and had her hair in an elegant up do. To match her modest attire, Paul donned a blue, collared shirt tucked in his salmon-colored shorts and paired with brown boat shoes. We took photos of the duo inside the Royal Canadian Yacht Club as they posed for us like two young teenagers very much in love with one another. Empty hallways are always nice venues for photo shoots because the objects of interest are highlighted and highly emphasized. The lighting was perfect so only minimal adjustments were made. The interiors of the hall wonderfully contrasted with the vibrant apparel of Julie and Paul.

Later that day, Julie and Paul changed into a more formal attire. Paul looked incredibly handsome in his white long sleeves rolled up to his elbows and matched with a pair of light khaki pants. His counterpart changed her maxi dress to a halter top garb that just fell above her knees. The white dress looked exquisite with its bodice’s front to back lacework. Julie wore a pair of golden strappy stilettos which completed her overall look.

The sun’s glow couldn’t outshine the sparks and the warmth radiating from the charismatic couple. Wherever we were, it was like second nature for them to pose for the cameras. It was as if it was just a regular date for them and we were just lurking around taking photos of them while they were being their natural selves. Toronto Islands promises a lot of grand locations that are perfectly ideal for engagement shoots and we especially loved the photos we took of Julie and Paul at the gardens overlooking the Ontario Lake and the breathtaking view of Toronto’s skyscrapers. It was a portrait of love, happiness, peacefulness and contentment.

You can clearly see how truly, madly, deeply in love Julie and Paul are with each other. All the while they were just holding hands and embracing each other like there’s no tomorrow. When we reached the harbor, the couple struck pose after pose and we just snapped our lenses to be able to capture their romantic love. Everything was perfect – from the venue to the awe-inspiring views, and from the wonderful climate to the soft glimmer of the sun.

The couple incorporated their sail boat in the engagement shoot to make it more personal. For this last phase of the pre-nup, Julie donned a black and white striped, collared shirt, tucked in a white pair of pants and matched with white, step in shoes. The two of them were clearly having fun while being photographed in their very own sail boat. This part of the shoot was enchanting especially the moment where Julie was stepping on top of the yacht while hugging and kissing Paul and the backdrop was the foggy outline of the skyscrapers of Toronto. It was surreal even for us photographers.
