Wedding
Oh My God!!! just got back from shooting a destination wedding in Mexico. I can’t wait to go through all the pictures, but this post is not about that. As a photographer, I’m often being asked: “what was the best hotel you have been at for the wedding?”. And I usually respond that: “in most cases they are all good, I never had any problems, pictures always looked nice. In reality it all depends on what you are looking for: beach, budget, things to do. But let me tell you, I was absolutely blown away by Azul Beach Hotel in Mexico. Such a nice place. I don’t even know where to start.
It is located between Cancun (30 minutes drive) and Playa del Carmen (45 minutes). Azul is a smaller boutique hotel very cozy and beautiful. Also I believe they just built a new section of luxury rooms with swim up pools, and at night it all lights up and you think you are in a paradise. They also have great classy restaurants. Almost made me believe that I was in most expansive restaurant Downtown Toronto and about to spend $400 on a meal, it was that good. Everybody I talked to was mesmerized by the food, in-fact, it was an ongoing topic all around resort for the time we stayed there. There is a choice of Italian, Latino, Asian, regular food, as well as the grill, stakes, and seafood. I got so spoiled during the week that couldn’t even think of what I should have for dinner, and now I miss it.
Also you have a choice of getting marred on the beach or on the rooftop of the hotel overlooking Caribbean sea and the jungle. In our case wedding ceremony was on the beach, and then we did the rest of the pictures up on the roof. Shooting a wedding at the Azul for me was such pleasure. You didn’t have to go far to find nice backgrounds, and the lighting there was just amazing.
From now on the bar is raised for me. I would defiantly recommend Azul Beach Hotel as a destination wedding location as well as one of the best location for you vacations.
