If we have never mentioned that we love our jobs then let us tell you – we really do love being wedding photographers. In fact, we love it so much we sometimes enjoy getting lost in the moment of love that our clients share. This is especially true when couples become very inspired and creative. They can never be too involved in the process of designing their wedding. And even in their engagement shoots, since these are usually a couple’s first photography activity together, some of them will tend to pour out their all in the preparations. This is exactly the story of Sam and Kristen when they spent a fun photo day with us.
Sam and Kristen picked a really nice location for us to get real artistic. Paper Daisy was the place to be. It was a country house far away from Toronto owned by a close friend of Kristen’s family who were kind enough to share this country-side gem with the lovely couple. It provided the perfect setting for a daisy theme that we were excited to use since it matched the name of the place. It wasn’t a surprise to know that it was a treasure chest of its own, with paper stars, fancy lights, old ropes, and all sorts of logs that we could use. There were a lot of wooden texture and some rustic vintage-like details too. The setup was really nice as the owner would throw dance parties on occasion. It was indeed a great area for the couple to have fun while we do our magic.
It was also great to know that the couple loved details. Sam has a lot of insight when it comes to quality clothing. He has a knack for everything nice having worked at Harry Rosen. From shoes to jackets, cufflinks, vests, and even the shoelaces were uniquely inspiring. Kristen’s short and sassy mini dresses perfectly matched whatever Sam was wearing. We absolutely love his yellow shoelaces matching her yellow shoes. It makes it seem like everything was carefully picked for this day. Just adding a hint of daisy flower in the picture made everything perfect. Oh, and have we mentioned we love the yellow shoelaces and shoes?
We never had any difficulty with Sam and Kristen. Whether it was elegant poses or putting on some dance moves, they were up for anything we ask them to do. This really fun couple are just filled with smiles and stares that they shared with each other. It makes it easier for us to take the images. We even find ourselves smiling behind the camera most of the time as their joy and laughter was simply contagious.
Engagement shoots are not supposed to be tiring. Our day was quite relaxed as the couple made it light and easy for us. We shared a nice dinner with the Sam and Kristen after the shoot as we love spending time with our clients. Getting to know them better before their wedding day lifts up our spirits and adds to our excitement to be extra creative during their special day.
