A big barn and some creative minds put together, makes one wedding party nothing short of fabulous. This is how we’d like to describe Tamarra and Sharvel’s wedding. The truth is that we’re not actually surprised that this was going to be a spectacular day. From the time that we had the couple’s e-session at Evergreen Brickwors in spring, we already anticipated that the wedding day was going to be amazing.
Outgoing, fun, and life-loving are probably some of the things we would use to describe this lovely couple. Their personalities just click so well and we’re blessed that we got to experience it during their engagement shoot and now through their wedding.
Tamarra and Sharvel picked a really nice location, The Century Barn in Exeter, Ontario, just a 30-minute drive from London. It’s an old barn which was brilliantly converted into a wedding reception venue. You won’t get disappointed with what the place has to offer. The place is absolutely perfect for couples who want to be a little bit more creative. It was like a canvas ready to be decorated and painted with lavishing colors from a DIY palette.
It had that rustic feel that matched a vintage or country style wedding theme, and large enough to get your family and friends together for a memorable celebration. And it’s not just in the inside of the barn, but the whole property itself was a gem of a place and great for pictorials, with old roads, picket fences, and a terrific landscape.
Since there were a lot of gorgeous DIY pieces put together to create a vintage masterpiece, the whole wedding looked like a fine board on Pinterest. While the dark wooden boards and panels of the barn already gave a countryside charm, the contrast of white chandeliers and furniture, hanging ornaments, and even the paper cut-outs made the place look very appealing. They added some fancy lights around, and T & S letters that lit up like an old wooden sign of a country-style high school prom made it look personal.
All those little trinkets and items they managed to find or make complimented with the old rustic feel – some old handwritten letters in a box, an old rangefinder camera, vintage frames, binoculars, mirrors, candles and old vintage spoons and cooking utensils that hung on the wall. Everything was just well thought of. They even had a picture board setup in one corner that showed their engagement photos, some family photos, and even old memories when they were little. We thought it was a brilliant idea.
Lighting there was gorgeous, something we photographers are always happy about. We had enough natural light coming in from the outside through the in-betweens of the wooden panels, but the evening shots we’re even better because of the awesome light we had during the golden hour. We just had to take Tamarra and Sharvel for a quick shoot during dinner to take advantage of it.
At this time, we just saw how in-love these two were – with lots of kisses, lots of stares, and lots of smiles and laughter. Beyond the great setup they had for their wedding, we just know that Tamarra and Sharvel’s life together was going to be even nothing short of amazing. We wish them all the best!
