Their love story began when Maya made the life-changing decision to delay her move to Ottawa for law school by three years. On her first day in town, fate introduced her to Wahid. While initially hesitant to leave Toronto, Maya’s eventual embrace of change led to the beginning of their love story. Maya fondly admits her only regret is not taking that leap of faith sooner—so she could have met Wahid earlier.

The day began at the luxurious Hotel X. Maya and Wahid got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family. With floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the rooms with natural light, the mood was set for some intimate and joyful moments before the celebration began.

Maya was a vision in her gown. Perfectly embodying the light, airy vibe she had envisioned for the day. Wahid, sharp and sophisticated, was all smiles as they shared their first look. The hotel’s modern design created the perfect backdrop for their couple’s portraits. Capturing their quiet moments of excitement and love before heading to the reception.

Maya had meticulously curated every detail of their wedding reception, held at the grand and stately Liberty Grand. Inspired by the recent wedding of Sophia Richie and Elliot Grange, Maya infused their reception with classic elegance, accented by lush, cascading orchids and lime-green florals.

The blend of florals with an Italian ballroom twist transformed the space into a dreamy oasis, reflecting Maya’s impeccable taste and vision. Our jaws were on the floor when we stepped into the reception space. The room was glowing from window to window with the most beautiful natural rays of sun shining into the space.

One of the most memorable elements of the evening was the impromptu cocktail hour, a nod to the unexpected 27-degree sunshine just days before their October 1st wedding.

Guests mingled by a picturesque waterfall, sipping drinks and savouring appetizers while the serene melodies of a live harpist played in the background. It was an atmosphere of pure joy and sophistication, elevated by the gorgeous weather and the beautiful scenery.

From start to finish, Maya and Wahid’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of their love story—a blend of serendipity, elegance, and timeless romance. Each detail, from the cascading florals to the impromptu cocktail hour, showcased Maya’s dedication to creating a day as perfect as their journey together.

And in the end, their wedding was a perfect reminder that sometimes, the best things in life come when you embrace the unexpected.

Thank you sooo much for sending these our way! We had such a blast with you guys — we are so grateful to have shared our day with you! I am so excited that your team’s work is getting the love it deserves!
