Garden-inspired flowers, a 7-tier cheese cake, and a dress-cleaning bridal team? Liana and Roberto’s wedding was a day full of timeless beauty, unconventional details and an incredible bridal party. “We viewed the wedding plans in general as not following what is usually done just because it’s usually done. We tried to question everything and cut any moment that added a formality that seemed stuffy to us.”
Can you believe that Liana and Roberto booked The Arlington Estate without having seen it? “We booked the venue when we had first got engaged and it wasn’t built. At that time the venue was still a vision and we booked off drawings. I was very nervous that the vision, and dream was not going to be a reality, but it was even better!” The style and aesthetic of the wedding fit perfectly with the elegance of The Arlington Estate and was the perfect backdrop for the day they had envisioned. Executed beautifully by Laura Olsen Events, every element was covered so Liana and Roberto could spend their day together worry-free.
You can’t help but notice the absolutely incredible florals by Blush and Bloom. Full of white flowers and deep rich greenery, Liana and Roberto wanted the florals to be natural, as if picked from the garden and put together in loose, organic arrangements. The bouquets, floral arrangements and reception décor we’re so beautiful you couldn’t take your eyes away! They even decorated the bride’s family home with flowers for her getting ready photos. Even with so much beauty to choose from we certainly know our favourite floral element. “My mom surprised me with the 30-foot floral installation hanging above the dance floor”. Definitely the standout piece of the day!
Their ceremony was filled with laughter and Roberto’s expression when he first saw Liana walk down the aisle was so sweet as they smiled at each other the entire way, their family and friends smiling along with them. We love the support that Liana and Roberto have from their family and friends but Liana’s bridal party takes it to another level! “My dress got so dirty from taking pictures at Sunnyside Pavilion because it was a rainy day in the morning. My sister/matron of honor/guardian angel took my dress (train first) and veil in the shower at The Arlington Estate and washed the dirt off. It was all hands-on deck to help it dry.” Now that’s a great team.
Liana’s dress was a customized Lea-Ann Belter gown. Our favourite part? The flower detail on the back of her dress. “They were made of materials from a combination of my sister and mother’s wedding dresses. They turned out beautifully and having them placed on my back the whole day was so special.”
Liana and Roberto wanted a day that felt elegant but easy-going. They decided against a receiving line for a cocktail hour with (delicious!) food stations and a wedding cake from The Cheese Boutique made of wheels of cheese. Weddings are all about being personalized for you as a couple and no tradition is off limits! “We love wine and cheese and are so happy with the way it turned out. We are still enjoying our wedding cake every day!”
We loved photographing Liana and Roberto’s wedding and helping to make them feel comfortable. It was such a beautiful and timeless day filled with meaningful personal touches.
