Beer Themed Steam Whistle Brewery Wedding

Beer – this was indeed the theme for Maureen and Brent’s wedding day. The lovely couple did a good job of choosing a concept that revolved around the Steam Whistle beer branding. It’s something we don’t really get to see everyday even in our line of work as wedding photographers. But since it’s a very unique and cool concept, we decided that highlighting it in our shots would give the couple’s wonderful creative effort some justice.

Even at the beginning of the day, while our beautiful bride was getting ready at the Radisson Hotel Admiral Toronto-Harbourfront for her big wedding, we find the gentlemen with the groom chilling at the nearby Amsterdam Brewhouse as they had some fun and beer. We spent a wonderful time with them as they posed with their retro sunglasses, colorful patterned socks, matching gray suits, and of course, with beer bottles in hand. Brent even had a Steam Whistle beer bottle cap for a buttoner. The idea was brilliant as it gave a sense of fun and contrast to the groom’s sleek look.

Maureen and Brent decided to have their portraits taken around the Toronto Harbourfront area and walk their way to the wedding venue which was just nearby. The wedding place was the central element of their wedding theme. Both the ceremony and reception was held at the historic John St. Roundhouse, which was home to Steam Whistle Brewing. It is located at the heart of downtown just south of the famous CN Tower. The building had beautiful architecture with a minimalist vintage feel. It is something that you get to appreciate whether you were inside or outside the structure. The place had dark toned walls on one side and red brick walls on another. It had large panel glass windows that brought in a lot of gorgeous natural light. The interior offered so much character and zing as you could even see the piping system on the high wooden ceiling.

There wasn’t too much that had to be done with the place as it was already gorgeous. A minimalist setup was sufficient in making Maureen and Brent’s wedding look fabulous. Table setups during the reception only had white tablecloths and centerpieces of white flowers in short glass vases. With those nice trinkets of miniature light bulbs hanging above our heads, the design never felt lacking in any way.

We got to take really cool shots outside the Roundhouse since there were a ton of nice wall backgrounds to choose from and light from the sunset helped in giving the portraits nice a warm color. Maureen and Brent were having lots of fun the whole time.

Maureen with her white lacy pencil-cut bridal gown was simply adorable. The pretty bride looked so bright and bubbly. She had this fresh and positive personality that just showed even in the pictures, especially during the ceremony when her eyes just sparkled as the two always glanced at each other. You could just see the look of love in their eyes.

From preps to portraits, ceremony to reception, this was one elegant wedding theme we wouldn’t forget. Having a Brewery brand for a theme may not be the first choice for many couples, but Maureen and Brent surely pulled it off. It was definitely a wedding day that was full of smiles, laughter, and beer!
