Don’t be afraid of winter! You don’t need to love the season to have an engagement shoot during those cold months. It doesn’t even have to be winter themed at all! We are dedicated to helping you tell your love story, no matter what the weather is like outside. Brainstorming is fun for us, and it’s a great way for us to get to know you as a couple. There are more location options than you think, and even the most obvious ones can turn out unique.
For Lisa and Marcus’s first location, we had an indoor shoot at the Colette Grand Cafe. This beautiful French bistro had wide windows that provided an abundance of natural light. You can’t even tell it’s freezing out! The restaurant had a modern European feel to it which created a clean, chic and elegant look.
We moved away from intimate and formal to fun and casual. Although the skating rink at the Nathan Philipps Square seems like a winter cliche, it stayed true to Lisa and Marcus’ story. They both love skating and we can testify that they are both really good at it. We absolutely loved how this part of the shoot screamed Toronto! Lisa and Marcus turned their engagement shoot into a date and we encourage all our couples to treat it this way. After all, it is a day that you get to spend together and we’ll only be third wheeling for 2 hours.
