It’s always a pleasure when we get invited to work with some of the most gifted wedding suppliers in Toronto to do an inspirational photo shoot. In these events, we find ourselves in awe of the possibilities that can be created by such a talented group of people willing to go the extra mile to make wedding occasions extra special. It is during these times that we get to witness ingenuity at work. We can never put limits to what human creativity can achieve.
Coordinated by Affiary events, Burroughes Building was the venue of our recent collaboration shoot. It’s an old department store in Queen Street West which the owners turned into a tasteful multi-function space. It had an elegant rustic ambience that was perfect for our little make-believe wedding. The wood parquet floors and textured brick walls gave our project an appealing vintage feel. But to call it a vintage theme was not entirely accurate, since it was a fusion of different elements – rustic and yet chic, and with hints of modern elegance filled with details, patterns, and texture.
The main theme focused on a powerful color palette. There was such a beautiful appeal to the use of blue in different shades and temperaments as it complimented with solid blacks and whites. It brought about a sense of sophisticated chic that is expected of any classy event. From metallic blues, royal, light, and dark hues, everything sat perfectly where they were.
The team also did a great job in putting together an inspiring set of tasteful detail. Ink and Paper designed stationeries that had an assortment of blue shades from the invitation down to the menu cards and seat labels. Le Dolci brought in a very stylish freshly hand-baked white cake with royal blue damask patterns that looked absolutely beautiful. The floral arrangements were simply dazzling as Caprice Design & Decor used white peonies and lisianthus flowers that matched the antiquated style setup. They created everything from the bridal bouquet, floral accents, heart wreaths, and even a floating floral table centrepiece that we don’t get to see everyday.
The table arrangement was also well thought out with some white flowers, fine silver, and choice china plates that were carefully prepared to show its intricately crafted patterns of blue and white. Even the wine glasses were delicately stylish having slender textured bodies that shouted classy. The addition of small metallic trinkets also gave a bit of character and pizzazz to the whole design. Together, all these awesome details spell elegance all the way through.
Of course, what is a wedding without a romantic pair? Our couple for the day dressed elegantly, wearing classic chic and minimalist style outfits. It was a Vera Wang vintage long gown for our lovely bride matched with a pair of gorgeously blue Valentino shoes that had the prettiest ribbons we’ve ever seen. Our handsome groom on the other hand wore a classic tux by Got Style.
The other suppliers who contributed to the success of our endeavor included Detailz Chair Couture who brought in the furniture, Luxe Diamons for the jewelry, Linen’s Closet for the linens, and Erin Heather for the couple’s hair and makeup. Those beautiful china and glassware was provided by William Ashley China.
We really enjoyed shooting during this collaborative effort, but the best part in all this was being able to bond with people in the wedding industry that we admire and respect. As an added bonus, our pictures were published in Wedding Chicks which is truly wonderful. We were most thrilled and delighted in knowing that they got to showcase our work. We’re looking forward to more surprises.
