From Casa Loma’s Conservatory to Hazelton Manor’s Sofreh: A Toronto Wedding Story
Hazelton Manor + Casa Loma
Mehrnaz & Andrew

There’s a particular kind of magic that happens when two people can’t stop smiling at each other, and Mehrnaz and Andre had that energy from the very first frame of the day. Getting married at Casa Loma, celebrating their sofreh and reception at Hazelton Manor, and somehow making every single detail in between feel just as intentional as the big moments, this wedding had it all.

We started the morning with getting ready spaces that were impeccably simple. Mehrnaz’s portraits were lit almost entirely with off-camera flash, giving us that editorial, polished look before the day had even really begun. Andre took a different approach to his detail shots, pulling pieces from around the house to style his flat lays, including a glass chess set that ended up being one of our favourite unexpected details of the whole day. It’s a small thing, but it told us everything about how these two think, thoughtful and completely themselves.

Their first look was full of heart, with just as much fun mixed in. Mehrnaz and Andre wore permanent smiles for the entire day, which as photographers, is a gift. It made every part of our job feel effortless and intentional at the same time. Every glance between them was a moment worth capturing on its own, and then just as quickly, they’d turn it on for the camera, ready to have fun, strike a pose, and laugh through the next shot. That balance of genuine emotion and playful energy set the tone for everything that followed.

The ceremony took place in Casa Loma’s conservatory, surrounded by family and friends who clearly adored this couple. With that many loved ones in the room, the teary-eyed moments came easily. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight, and we made sure to catch every one of them. After the ceremony, we walked just down the road to Spadina Museum for bridal party portraits, and the grounds delivered stunning shot after stunning shot. With our outdoor permit in hand, we had the freedom to explore the property and found the perfect pocket of shade for more off-camera flash work. It’s a good reminder of something we think about on every wedding day, sometimes the job is finding the right light, and sometimes it’s making our own. At Spadina, we got to do both by leaning into the natural shade the grounds offered, then layering in flash to shape the portraits exactly how we envisioned them.

Following such an emotional, heartfelt ceremony, we’d expect nothing less than an extravagant Sofreh to follow and Hazelton Manor delivered. The room decor, designed by Petals and Pearls and Henna Florist, was nothing short of breathtaking, setting the stage for a reception that matched the warmth and joy of the day before it. As the evening went on, the dance floor came alive. There’s nothing we love more as photographers than a crowd that welcomes the camera and gives us all the energy in return, and Mehrnaz and Andre’s guests brought exactly that. Full dance floor, full hearts, full vibes.

Congratulations, Mehrnaz and Andre. Thank you for letting us be part of your story.
