There are always practical benefits to having a single venue for a wedding celebration. It’s something that we have come to appreciate as photographers. For one thing, it’s relaxing to know that we have enough time to photograph the family, entourage, and most especially, the bride and groom, since we’re only steps away from the party. In other occasions, it is quite a challenge to find unique spots in the same area where it wouldn’t look boring and usual in the photos. That’s why it’s also a good thing when couples look into having a different location for their ceremonies from their reception. Whichever the case, it helps us as wedding photographers to be creative just the same. And whatever is the choice, we still try our best to capture only the best for our clients.
But have you ever wondered what multiple locations in a day looks like for wedding photographers? Danny and Oriana’s celebration shows us just that – five cities just in a single day and some wonderful photos to show for it. It does involve a lot of moving around, but it’s a good break that gives us time to talk about how we could make our shots look even better.
Our day began at Woodbridge, where Oriana waited eagerly at her parent’s place. It was, of course, a special day for her and we witnessed how much preparation she and her family had made to make sure she looked absolutely beautiful and fabulous for her groom. She was all smiles when she was being made-up and looked even more gorgeous with her dress on – a white pencil cut gown, matching bracelet and earrings, and a nice pair of textured closed white heels. There were lots of people waiting for her downstairs and they were in such delight seeing her.
Meanwhile, Danny was getting all prepped-up at his’ parent’s place in North York. We had a lot of fun taking photos with him and his family and even had some quirky shots with them. We knew he was eager to see his bride as his excitement and the look on his face said it all. The celebration was already starting there as they shared a few glasses of wine before the whole family proceeded to their ceremony venue at a church in Vaughan.
The ceremony was beautiful and both Italian families we’re there to witness it. Danny and Oriana are both Italian. A lot of the wedding traditions we have nowadays are of Italian origin – the bride wearing a garter, using rings as a symbol of faithfulness, and long veils which, in Italian tradition, meant years of love before marriage. Oriana’s veil was sure quite long and whether or not they followed the custom of one meter per year of engagement, it sure did suit the lovely bride as she walked down the aisle while his groom and everyone else watched in gladness.
Oriana and Danny wanted to keep things intimate so they chose not to hold a bridal party after the ceremony. They opted to spend time together by have some fun taking photos at the Pine Farms Orchard in King City. It was a wonderful place with lots of greens and captivating spaces, and even if it was hot, everyone still had a great time.
The wedding reception was held at Embassy Grand at Brampton, which was our fifth city and last stop for the day. This wedding venue was charming and very stylish. The setup was beautiful with elegant interiors and matching lights that made the place a sight to behold.
At the centre of one side of the room was a really nice bar that was brilliantly setup for the celebration. What’s more incredible was that it was actually Danny and his best man who set it up. Since both of them were bartenders back in the day, they really put in a lot of effort on it to make sure it was amazing. And it was since the guests sure did have lots of fun and enjoyed the night.
After long day and five cities later, we find ourselves giving each other some high fives for a job well done. Would we do it again? Or course we would… anything to make our clients happy.
