It’s that time of the year when you get a chance to catch up on some work, revisit some of your edits and bring back memories. With a cup of Sweet orange spice tea on my desk and some nice ambient tunes kindly provided by Soma FM in my speakers i decided to go through all the engagement photos I did last year.
The shoot I did with Kathleen and Jonathan is definitely my favorite from 2011. I just love shooting in Fall. The colours, the mood, vibrance and decadent feel.
Kathleen and I have known each other for many many years, and I remember when I got my first digital SLR camera and really just started getting into photography she said that she would love me to do her engagement photos when she finds the right man. I took it as a compliment but didn’t know if she was serious about it. Who would have thought that years later I would be doing engagement and wedding photography for living…
Time flies, and here we are, shooting Kathleen’s and Jonathan’s engagement session. I love brickworks and Don Valley park. I used to love it even more when it was rusty and abandoned. It was truly a Mecca to all Toronto photographers. Renovations definitely took away from that romantic and edgy feel that everyone enjoyed, but it’s still great in my opinion, especially in Fall.
The weather was not cooperating that day. It was windy and cold, and sure enough it started raining as soon as we parked our cars. That did not stop us though. We decided that we were just gonna try our best, and it all worked out! The rain stopped and the wind slowed down! Jonathan and Kathleen were easy to work with and absolutely amazing in front of the camera! Here are the pictures. Enjoy, and let me know what you think
