When you’re a frequent visitor to events like weddings, you know that style and glam are a usual sight. But when playful personality is mixed with sophistication, you encounter a unique expression of creativity that adds brilliance to what you can see. Elegance with a touch of playfulness is a good thing and this is what we saw in Lindsay and Chris’ wedding.
We began our day at the beautifully designed Festival Tower at 80 John Street, where our bride had her pre-wedding activities with her mothers and bridesmaids. Lindsay was quite the princess that we expected her to be. She looked dazzling in her exquisite long gown that flowed smoothly as she moved. It matched pretty well with the lovely striped silver heels which we think was an absolute great choice for a chic elegant look. Aside from the pearls and other jewelry she wore, Lindsay had her grandmother’s beautiful ring on her too – it was legacy at its finest.
Our dazzling groom on the other hand was at their house on Queen Street East. We thought Chris looked handsomely awesome with his sleek blue-toned gray suit and brown leather shoes which he accentuated with a stylish blue-accented floral tie. From time to time we would see bits and pieces of the groom’s fascination with Lego. Yes, those plastic playthings that interlock looked pretty cool to see in a wedding styled to perfection.
Osgoode Hall was the venue for the couples’ first meet. It was an awesome place with lovely backgrounds. This 19th century heritage building had been around for about 170 years. Osgoode Hall has unique, one of a kind designs, textured elements, and clean spaces perfect for either black and white or full colour images. It was convenient that we didn’t need a permit to shoot there.
It was obvious that Lindsay and Chris were very in love. There was this sparkle in Chris’ eyes whenever their eyes met that showed how captivated he is with his lovely bride. The way they smiled as they looked at each other will lift anyone’s’ romantic spirits.
Although it rained a few times during the ceremony and when we were doing portraits, that didn’t stop everyone to have some fun. The ceremony at Malaparte was short and sweet and we enjoyed the place so much. The idea that a wedding could be done inside a rooftop terrace tent was remarkable. The venue gave us gorgeous cityscape views of downtown Toronto with all the skyscrapers volunteering to be our gorgeous picturesque backdrop perfect for family pictures.
We came back to 80 John Street after the ceremony for some portraits and we were delighted with the photographs we took here since the architecture was very modern and beautiful, it made our lovely bride look even more charming and elegant than she already was. It’s real pretty that the groomsmen and the bridesmaids all matched the couple’s clothes. The guys even wore fancy blue socks and one had a santa design – playful personality at its best.
From the ceremony to the reception, the designs were very elegantly minimalist and elements were truly beautiful. They used the same floral arrangement for the bridal bouquet, center pieces, and those that adorned the aisle during the ceremony – lavender, peach, and pink rose blooms that were pretty stylish and smart.
The reception venue felt incredibly unreal due to the amazing décor and space. Malaparte had floor to ceiling windows that attracted gorgeous light, black floors, wall columns that had texture and shimmer, and the pretty ceilings were adorned with fancy embossed designs. The choice of white elements and pastel coloured décor was very contemporary and chic. Yet again we find hints of playfulness as we see some of our charming groom’s toys on top of icing – matching bride and a groom Legos on their cake. It was epic.
Lindsay and Chris’ wedding was adorably charming. The places they chose were unforgettably delightful and the whole look they selected was truly glamorous. They’re a sweet romantic couple and what was truly awesome was that their positively fun personalities out shined it all. We’re pretty sure Lindsay and Chris will have a wonderful life ahead of them.
