When Abby and Pete arrived, they were instantly radiant — Abby in her effortlessly elegant white dress (looking like she stepped straight out of a romance novel!) and Pete in a crisp white shirt and dark jeans, the perfect mix of polished yet relaxed. Right away, we knew we were in for magic.
We wandered the beautiful grounds of Dundurn Castle, with its grand stone columns and historic charm setting the stage. But honestly, the real showstopper wasn’t the castle, it was the two of them.
Every time they looked at each other, they lit up. There was so much laughter between them: running hand in hand down the gravel paths, stealing glances when they thought we weren’t looking, or getting caught up in a spontaneous twirl or lift (Pete spinning Abby around made our hearts melt!).
One thing that made this session extra special was how we incorporated props into their shoot: a cute vintage camera and a cozy picnic blanket.
We love adding props to engagement sessions because they help tell the couple’s story in a more personal way. For Abby and Pete, it wasn’t just about pretty portraits in front of a castle — it was about making the experience fun and natural for them.
Having something to interact with (like snapping playful photos of each other or cuddling up on the blanket) helped them relax, get comfortable in front of the camera, and let their personalities shine. And let us tell you, that’s when the real magic happens — the laughter, the goofy smiles, the sweet forehead kisses, and all those candid in-between moments that make the photos feel alive.
Abby and Pete, you two are pure sunshine together. Thank you for trusting us to capture your love story in such a beautiful place. We cannot wait to see you both walk into the next chapter of your lives, hand in hand, with that same infectious joy and laughter.
