As many of you know, August is one of the busiest times of the year for a wedding photographer. It is the last month of the summer and it is full of beautiful hot weather, clear skies and sunny days. This makes it the perfect month to have a wedding!
During this crazy time, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to spend the day with Natalia and Matthew. They were such a fun, classy, laid back, elegant couple. It was no surprise that working with them became one of the highlights of our summer.
Our day began with Natalia and her ladies at the beautiful Hyatt Regency in Yorkville. Nataila’s genuine, carefree personality made her the perfect bride to work with. Together with her bridesmaids they showed us the day was all about fun! From constant smiles and laughter, to even sneaking away to the Hyatt’s bar for shots while we were busy taking portraits. The fun never stopped!
While the ladies were getting ready at the Hyatt, the men could be found in Annex at the home of Matthews brother. Along with his family, Matthew and his groomsmen prepared or the big event in a more relaxing laid back approach. Lots of fun, drinks and good times were had by all the men before they headed off to the church.
The ceremony was held at the majestic Saint Thomas Church near the University of Toronto. Walking through the doorway into the church was like walking into scene of a movie. The breathtaking cathedral ceilings and exposed stonework created an intimate, picture perfect backdrop for the bride and groom to exchange their vows. Love and happiness radiated from the couple and everyone there. It was truly a magical moment.
After the ceremony, we ventured out with the wedding party and made our way to the historic University of Toronto. It is a photographers dream with so many wonderful locations hidden throughout the campus. Add in a fun, laid back wedding party and the pictures come to life. Laughter and fun was had by everyone, making this one of our most enjoyable shoots. You can’t help but smile when you see just how much fun and love was shared by everyone on this special day.
Our journey ended at Rosehill restaurant on Yonge and Rosehill. The ambient lighting and decor created an intimate setting for the couple and their guests. After a wonderful meal, they danced into the night. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day.
Thank you Natalia and Matthew for allowing us to be apart of your special day and we hope the memories we captured last a lifetime!
