The connection between the photographer and the bride and groom is important in bringing out the best wedding photographs. The lesser the emotional tension, the lesser the stress, and the easier it is to focus on creating heartwarming and elegant images of two people tying the knot. Sometimes this type of connection takes a bit of time to develop. In other times, it is as quick as the first handshake.
Chris and Lily were exactly the kind of couple that you could connect with instantly. Being with them was simply comfortable. It was also easy for us to create compelling images for them since we’ve spent a great time with the two during their stunning engagement photo shoot in Guildwood Park earlier in summer. It gave them enough experience being in front of the camera which was one thing less to worry about. This is one good benefit of having an engagement photo shoot with your wedding photographer prior to your actual wedding,
Both of them had their preps done at their parents’ houses. This made us happy because we love taking pictures inside homes. It’s a great place to get ready before the wedding as it is more intimate and personal compared to hotels and other wedding venues. We also get to see many more interestingly unique details that we can include in our shots. The houses were beautiful and they matched well with wedding preparations. The house where Lily was had a lot of classy furniture, some with intricate woodwork and others with lovely patterns. The wide windows and cream-colored walls brought in a lot of natural light. Both houses had lots of space, lots of fine details, and lots of gorgeous lighting. Working in this kind of space was very comfortable for everyone. There’s just plenty of room to be creative.
After the lovely ceremony, we went to the handsome village of Kleinburg for the couple’s portraits and some fun time with the entourage. Lily had originally wanted to have a farm setting for this purpose but since it was logistically impossible, having it at this historic community was the next best thing. The place had a lot of captivating backdrops and our happy bride was really cheerful about the big barn that gave us a lot of options for stunning portraiture. Most of the bridal party photos were taken there and we enjoyed seeing how they were tastefully dressed in front of a barn that had a lot of character– rustic meets elegance.
Our day ended at the Terrace in Vaughan, where the reception was held. There wasn’t much need for an elaborate design setup because the place was already gorgeous. The interiors were already charming that minimal arrangement was enough for the celebration. Everyone had fun with all the good food, speeches, and dancing. The staff was also very nice and fun to work with. It’s something that we really appreciate as it makes our jobs easier.
Kisses, laughter, and tears of joy – it was indeed an awesome wedding. With all the smiles that we can see in the photos we took of Chris and Lily, we just knew it was one happy day for everyone. We wish Chris and Lily all the best in their new life together.
