Today we want to share some insights with you! Usually, we sit together to brainstorm ideas for upcoming engagement shoots with our clients. We can’t tell how many times it is we have been told “we want something different.” However in most cases it is hard to explain what exactly they want. In Faranak and Jason’s case they described it as casual but romantic, pastel, and overall bright “feel” of the shoot. Something you don’t normally see and definitely somewhere far from downtown Toronto.
After consultations back and forth, we agreed on a location somewhere outside of Toronto, with lots of greenery in the background. After careful review of possible places, we discovered Terre Bleu Lavender Farm in Milton, and though it was not the season for lavender blossom anymore, we decided to give it a try.
‘Betty’s Blue,’ ‘Imperial Gem,’ ‘Mellissa,’ ‘Grosso,’ ‘Folgate,’ ‘Phenomenal’ and of course our favorite ‘Purple Bouquet’ were the seven varieties of lavender that caught Faranak’s attention at Terre Bleu. After arranging the permits with Ian Baird, the owner of the farm, Ian offered us one of his horses, and that’s when we knew it was going to be nothing less than enchantic.
We wanted to get a soft light and feel of the shoot, that’s why we decided to start later in the day, to be able to capture the couple at the “golden hour”, which was right before the sunset. Faranak had two different beautiful outfits; a purple dress but mostly appeared in her blue jeans and white top. Jason was in his matching casual look in the pair of white tops and pants that all together complemented each other’s looks and the scene in general.
Faranak and Jason got married at Cambium Farms, beautiful rustic barn in Caledon, moments of which we promise to share! We say thanks to Ian for being such a kind host and an awesome company.
