Tierra del Sol is one of the most striking ceremony locations in Aruba. A dramatic landscape of desert cacti, volcanic rock formations and an endless turquoise horizon. As Tijana and Joseph said their vows along a crisp white aisle lined with white florals, we had nothing but cactus silhouettes and open sky to work with as a backdrop, and it gave us some of the most striking, editorial images of the entire day.
Following the ceremony, we positioned Tijana and her bridesmaids beneath a row of white parasols to shield them from the island sun, a simple styling detail that turned into some of our favourite portraits of the day. Soft, sun drenched black and white frames of genuine laughter between friends. It is a reminder we carry into every session, sometimes the simplest props produce the most beautiful photographs. As the reception unfolded poolside, we knew the light was going to give us something special. Guests gathered beneath umbrellas as the golden Aruba sun began to set behind the resort’s Spanish tiled rooftops, and we made sure to capture every frame of that fading light.
As night fell, the energy shifted entirely, and so did our approach. String lights overhead, a checkered dance floor underfoot, and a full Caribbean carnival troupe in dazzling feathered headdresses gave us an explosion of colour and movement to chase all night long. Tijana changed into a sparkling pearl embellished mini dress, and we stayed locked in on every dance, every hug, and every moment shared with family and friends who had travelled across the world to be there.
