When it comes to shooting weddings a lot of things inspire us – lovely decorations, gorgeous romantic venues, awesome wedding details, happy guests, charming couples, and the list goes on. It amazes us how bits and pieces of good things can actually create a beautiful tapestry of romance, elegance, and inspiration in a wedding celebration. It’s just magical when this happens, and we found this magic in Ashleigh and Adam’s wedding day.
It was an intimate celebration at the house of Adam’s parents at the High Park neighborhood in Toronto. The house was absolutely beautiful from the moment we first set your eyes on it. It had that type of modern-medieval kind of architectural appeal with its stone walls and a beautifully designed façade. The interiors were also elegant, the furniture exquisite, and the walls had an attractive textured rustic charm.
Preps were ongoing while we took photos of the lovely bride, Ashleigh. She looked romantically happy as she always carried a sweet natural smile. She looked gorgeous in her fine white pencil-cut dress as she held on to a bouquet of fresh white rose blooms. It was also sweet that her adorably cute white dog would join her in some of her portrait shots. Their pictures together were absolutely pure and prefect. Adam, the other hand, was already outside, set and eager to see his lovely bride. He looked handsomely charming and you could just sense hints of excitement in the way he smiled.
Since it was raining the whole day, they decided to pitch a large white tent on the backyard where the reception was to be held. Even if it wasn’t planned, it was really awesome that the tent didn’t look like it was an emergency arrangement. They installed it in such a way that it seemed as if it was really part of the original setup.
We went to James Gardens for some family and couples portraits before the ceremony. The place was naturally gorgeous. It was a 21-acre estate of hills, valleys and virgin forests. It had wide lawns, ponds, wooden bridges, and nature trails. Although we didn’t get to see it, they say that over 75,000 tulips are planted in this property which could have been an amazing sight. We had to use a couple of umbrellas during our photo shoot because of the rain, but we loved that it fit perfectly as props and somehow added a delightfully elegant twist to the family photos.
After their beautiful romantic time at the ceremony, the celebration continued back at the house where everyone seemed to have a great time. Everything looked perfect. The food was delectable and amazing and they even had a candy bar setup where guests cold take home some gummies and chocolates. But there was an awe-inspiring moment we loved the most. It was when Adam’s mom sang a song and played some music with her guitar for the newlyweds – pleasant words and a melody that became a tribute and blessing for the couple’s great life together. It was both adorable and sweet… something worth remembering.
